What is an Intrastate Move?
An intrastate move is one that begins and ends within the same state without crossing state lines. At SeaPort, we have two different types of intrastate moves, local and long distance. SeaPort’s local moves are shipments transported 100 miles or less within the state of Oregon and charged by the hour. SeaPort’s long distance moves are shipments transported 101 miles or more within the state of Oregon and charged by the weight. How Much Will The Move Cost?
Every move is unique, but we are here to give you the closest possible estimate so that you will never have to be worried about cost. We offer the most competitive pricing for the Seattle, Portland, and surrounding areas and will never give you the “run around” with pricing. We believe in straight-forward, honest estimates because we take pride in our work.
Just like every move is unique, every estimate will be different because the amount of manpower and trucks available will vary, as will the amount of time needed to transport your goods. For local moves regulated within the state of Oregon, there is a 2 hour minimum and our hourly rate begins when we arrive at your first location and ends when we complete the move at your final location plus a flat travel fee. The travel fee is based only on mileage accrued. For long distance moves regulated within the state of Oregon the cost is determined by weight and delivery time requested, there is a minimum for expedited shipments. Non-regulated moves or moves jobs within the state of Washington have different minimums and pricing. Your relocation consultant will provide you with all the pricing options.
SeaPort offers full and partial services for your intrastate needs. Most intrastate jobs are delivered same day or next day but we can also accommodate short and long term storage options. We can perform only loading or unloading services if you prefer to do your own driving. We offer full or partial packing if you need any assistance with fragile items. All moves come with free padded moving blankets to protect your furniture. We will disassemble and reassemble most furniture as long as special tools are not necessary, some exclusions apply, please ask your relocation consultant for more details.
